Background

Although the world is complex, Kelly has found that a few simple techniques can create results equal to the complexity.  Think carefully about people and their needs, understand businesses and the most-important factors in their successes, and engage in technology only as a means to success. Like a natural ecology, the world of business systems can become fitter only through the pressure of natural selection: processes, procedures, and software will naturally become more complex and less functional unless only the most-useful of them are allowed to thrive.

Kelly has worked as an independent consultant for over 30 years with an immense diversity of clients. In each of his engagements, he seeks to unearth the powerful, simple things that can lead to success, whether might be the hidden strengths in a team, the buried path to success in a business model, the core functionality in a custom software suite … or some combination of them all.

Kelly is an enthusiastic offshore sailor and kayaker. That’s easy to do, since he telecommutes from Saltspring Island, B.C. He is also working (although somewhat slowly) on a graduate degree in astronomy, specializing in exoplanets, and is an enthusiastic amateur chef.

Kelly’s visionary approach coupled with his innate ability to handle obstacles as opportunities and build a cohesive and efficient team process far exceeded our expectations. [He has] superior skills on the human resource side in mentoring and creating effective team constructs and workflow processes. He instilled desire in us to achieve the highest level of performance and achievement.” – Larry Thomas and Holly LaBrie, Canadian Cattlemen’s Association.
